As project "make Karianne's PhD happen even though all possible projects so far have failed" is slowly starting this week (after 5 weeks of holidays, he he) I know I should be really productive and work my very best. Hmm, I'm trying. I have given myself no access to facebook while being at work, I'm trying to minimise writing long emails, and I'm trying to get to work before 10, aiming at 9-9.30. It's just that, sadly, motivation doesn't come automatically when all other restrictions are done. And there are a thousand other work-related tasks to be done during every-day worklife. These days the labcourse is taking up lots of my time, tomorrow I'll be going to Hoher List again, and even though I will be working this Saturday it won't be the kind of work I planned. I can only hope for good weather so I can go home after only one night, have Sunday off (Sunday is always off-limit workwise!), and come back refreshed and ready for real work on Monday.
Trying to get my PhD going I will be travelling for quite some days during the next few months, hopefully gathering some inspiration with all the knowledge I seek. I have the experience that going somewhere new to work makes me very productive (and counter-productive when back home, but we won't talk about that). So I'm looking forward to coming back having lots done, a whole new perspective on things, and motivation to carry me through the next 1 1/2 years. Yey!!
